Bicyclist Dies After Being Shot In Pomona

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — A 26-year-old man riding a bicycle was shot and later died at a local hospital Saturday night, according to police.

Pomona police Sgt. Steve Congalton told City News Service that Joshua Daniel Roberts was on a bicycle in the 1500 block of Sheridan Avenue when someone inside a vehicle that pulled up next to him fired several shots. Roberts was treated at the scene by Los Angeles County paramedics before being airlifted to an area hospital in critical condition. Police were sent to the scene at 7:40 p.m.

No motive for the shooting has been established, Congalton said. Pomona police ask that anyone with information call 909-620-2085.
