17-Year-Old Accidentally Shoots 18-Year-Old Friend To Death In Victorville Home

VICTORVILLE (CBSLA.com) —   Authorities say a 17-year-old male accidentally shot an 18-year-old friend to death in Victorville.

The shooting happened Thursday, just before 8:50 p.m. in the 13000 block of Bennington Drive, deputies with the Victorville Police Department said.

Officials said Ronald McKinzie of Adelanto was shot in the upper body in a bedroom of the residence.

A preliminary investigation revealed that McKinzie was shot by an accidental discharge by a 17-year-old male juvenile who was also at the residence. The male juvenile was arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall for negligent discharge of a firearm, resulting in death.

The investigation is ongoing.
