Obama orders more troops to Iraq
President Obama has informed Congress he is sending up to 200 additional U.S. forces to Iraq. They are being sent with helicopters and will be combat capable, but senior officials say their mission is to protect embassy personnel, secure Baghdad’s airports and, if necessary, assist with evacuations from Baghdad.
