Iran's Revolutionary Guard released this video of what it said was a missile launched towards a US military base in Kuwait after US aircraft carried out what the military called a defensive strike along Iran's Coast. In a statement, CENTCOM said the missile was intercepted and called the Iranian attacks a, quote, "egregious ceasefire violation that posed a clear threat in and near the Strait of Hormuz." This marks the second time this week the US and Iran have traded strikes, deepening fears over the fragile ceasefire. But tonight, US sources confirmed a tentative memorandum of understanding for a 60 day ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz has been reached. It's now awaiting the approval of both President Trump and the Iranian leadership. Other thorny issues, including Tehran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs and sanctions relief, will be negotiated later. So, too will the ceasefire in Lebanon, which has seen intense attacks this week as Israel expands operations against Iran's proxy there, Hezbollah, a red line for Tehran. Michael Oren is a former Israeli ambassador to the US. Is there a diplomatic end to this that Israel could be satisfied with? We'll have to say, OK, that deal is your deal, Mr. President, and the Iranians, we cannot be beholden to that deal, certainly, if it risks the lives of our citizens here. Financial and oil markets reacted positively to the news. A memorandum of understanding between the White House and Tehran had largely been agreed to. But a deal has felt close before. And until the president signs the MOU, it isn't done until it's done. Tony. Imtiaz Tyab for us in Israel. Imtiaz, thank you very much.
