After more than a week of missed flights, stressed flyers, and security lines stretched on seemingly forever, this was Houston Bush Airport today, wait times topping out at about an hour. In Atlanta, after weeks of soul-crushingly long lines, early morning fliers were not taking any chances. It's like 4:50. We got here about 5, 10 minutes ago. Our flight is at 9:00, so we'll see. I mean, we're hopeful.

TSA workers across the country tell CBS News they've started receiving about a month's worth of back pay after President Trump signed an executive order last week. I have a total of $18 in one account. And I'm negative $100 and change on the other one.

Does what you got today, does that get you by for a bit? It pays the rent. [LAUGHS] It paid March. But as we can all see, we're in April already. So it doesn't go far.

At most airports across the country, wait times declined Monday. BWI Airport in Baltimore saw closed checkpoints and hours-long lines this weekend, but today, all checkpoints were back open. And at Boston Logan Airport, flyers expressed cautious relief. Doesn't seem too bad here. Knock on wood. Now, last week, this checkpoint was closed here at Phoenix Sky Harbor. Staffed and back open today, even as officers tell us they're not sure when they'll get the rest of their back pay. Last shutdown, that took several pay periods to fully work itself out. And there are tens of thousands of DHS employees who aren't getting paid because of that ongoing shutdown, Tony.
