Jared Bridegan headed home from a night out with his children in 2022, when he stopped the car to move a tire blocking the road. Police say the 33-year-old Microsoft employee was then shot and killed in the street in front of his two-year-old daughter, Bexley strapped in her car seat. Janelle Cruz drove up on the scene and the child just after the shooting. She was shaking. She was panting, as if she's been crying.

Court documents say Gardner harbored a deep hatred for Jared Bridegan and resented sharing custody of their children. Good afternoon. Bridegan's widow, Kirsten, testified about her attempts to reach her husband the night of the murder. I kept calling him. And I would give it a little bit. Surveillance video after the shooting captured a man running from the scene and someone driving away in a truck. Investigators allege that was Henry Tenon, whose DNA, they say, was on the tire blocking the road that night and who was allegedly paid at least $10,000 by Fernandez Saldana, disguised as expenses for landscaping and roof work. Fernandez Saldana's defense team says there is no evidence that he hired or paid Tenon for the killing. Tenon is scheduled to go to trial next year. And the ex-wife, Shanna Gardner, who has pleaded not guilty, she is scheduled for her own trial next month. Tony? All right, Jason. Thank you.
