--it's a great thing for Americans, but that doesn't do anything for your child care, your health care, your elder care. These are prices that are much higher than they were even five years ago. Interest rates and the Fed, what's going on there?
JILL SCHLESINGER:

Well, we have a meeting that concludes today. We're going to likely get a quarter of a percentage point reduction. That's great. It's going to help people who are borrowers because they're going to say, ooh, maybe that interest rate on my credit-card balance a little bit better, a little bit easier for the new car loan. But for savers, not so good because you're earning less interest. But, overall, the expectation, a quarter of a percentage point. We'll see if Chairman Powell puts something out there about maybe they'll pause. Remember, they haven't had any economic information that they can base their projections on. So they're in a strange place as well.

Holidays here. Christmas is-- tick tock to Christmas in a couple of weeks. You have tips for consumers for the holidays? Ladies and gentlemen, I hate to be Scrooge McSchlesinger, but listen, I know what happens is you feel really bad, and you go out, and you spend. But you pay the price when it comes to January, February, March. I have a great inducement for you. We are likely to see a huge tax refund season. Wouldn't it be a shame if, in February and March, you get a $3,000 or $4,000 check and you've got to pay down a credit-card bill? You can use this money to shore up your finances next year. Try to go easy. There is going to be some really good boosts come the tax refund time, and I think that that should be enough to keep you under wraps for this holiday season. A couple families are just saying presents for the kids only. I actually think that's a good idea. No doubt. Save that money. Definitely. Thank you, and happy belated birthday.
