South African gold miners win $400 million in historic lung disease case
A major lawsuit against gold mining companies in South Africa is gaining global attention. Tens of thousands of miners will now receive a portion of a $400 million settlement. They're suffering from a deadly lung disease called silicosis from inhaling dangerous dust while working underground for decades.
