Simple blood test could transform prenatal screening
A report in the New England Journal of Medicine indicated a noninvasive fetal DNA blood test was more accurate at detecting genetic abnormalities than standard screening. Researchers say the study could reduce the need for invasive diagnostic procedures. Dr. Jon LaPook reports.
