Severe storms and extreme heat sweep across the U.S.
More than 60 million people are under threat for severe storms, spreading from the Midwest, where heavy sheets of rain soaked parts of the region. The U.S. is also bracing for extremely hot weather, with several states expected to have triple-digit temperatures.
