“Red at the Bone” author Jacqueline Woodson on writing about race, history, and family
Jacqueline Woodson is a New York Times-bestselling author, with more than five million copies of her works sold worldwide. Her memoir, "Brown Girl Dreaming," won the National Book Award in 2014, and her more than two dozen children’s books are regularly taught in schools across the country. Her newest work of adult fiction is called “Red at the Bone.” It tells the story of how two Brooklyn families cope after an unexpected pregnancy brings them together. Woodson joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss the book.
