President Gerald Ford testified against would-be assassin, new tape reveals
A tape released by a federal court contains the testimony of former President Gerald Ford in the trial of Lynette Fromme, a follower of Charles Manson who attempted to assassinate Ford. This was the first criminal trial ever to feature an oral testimony from a sitting president.
