New Mexico attorney general on win over Meta

A Los Angeles jury ruled against Meta and Google on Wednesday, finding the companies liable for reports of damage done to young people by social media. Absolutely. And speaking of accountability, this is just one of several social media trials taking place this year. While we're seeing this movement, will this change how these platforms operate at all to protect children? Well, the second phase of our case is actually going before the district court in early May. That's on the public nuisance claim. We will not only be asking for additional monetary relief to help mitigate the harm to the children in New Mexico who have been impacted by this product. We're going to be looking for injunctive relief. That's a specific list of changes to Meta's business model, to the algorithm. We're asking for real age verification, external monitoring of compliance. And I think this has the real possibility of changing not only how this company is forced to do business in New Mexico, but all across the country and around the world. All right. Raúl Torrez, thank you so much. We appreciate your time. Thank you.
