New details about deadly attack on U.S. soldiers

Satellite images show the facility in Kuwait where soldiers were working before and after a deadly Iranian drone strike. The Pentagon has identified four of the six Army reservists killed as it faces questions about the facility's perceived lack of defenses. Charlie D'Agata has more.

Defense Secretary Hegseth said the facility in Kuwait was fortified. It happened to hit a tactical operation center that was fortified.

CHARLIE D'AGATA:

But sources tell CBS News, the facility was a triple-wide trailer made into an office space, had no protection against projectiles coming from above, and lacked the defenses to intercept incoming drones. "We basically had no drone defeat capability," one source told us. Today, Secretary Hegseth argued the vast majority of drones are intercepted.

But when a few drones get through or tragic things happen, it's front page news. I get it. The press only wants to make the president look bad, but try for once, to report the reality.

10-year-old boy doesn't have his dad. A mom doesn't have her husband. A community is in mourning, but we also lift him up in service to the country. This week, the Defense secretary and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff told members of Congress behind closed doors that Iranian drones, like the ones that killed these service members, present a major challenge, and air defenses might not be able to intercept them all.
