National Weather Service operating with less experienced staff, data gaps amid hurricane season

Peak hurricane season is approaching, and the National Weather Service is operating with a less experienced workforce and gaps in some data that forecasters rely on. Last year, the government agency eliminated about 15% of its workforce as part of the Trump administration's sweeping job cuts.
