Karlan: "Only kings say 'us' when they mean 'me'"
During the House Judiciary Committee's impeachment hearing on Wednesday, constitutional law scholar Pamela Karlan criticized President Trump's phrasing during his July 25 call with the Ukrainian president. Karlan said that when Mr. Trump asked Volodymyr Zelensky to "do us a favor, though," he was using the "royal we." "Only kings say 'us' when they mean 'me,'" she said.
