[BOOM] Still, for Tehran, a key demand for talks is for the fighting in Lebanon to end. Michael Oren is a former Israeli ambassador to the US. We also understand that Mr. Netanyahu is not deeply involved in the negotiations that are being mediated by Pakistan. Why not? I don't know if the president feels that he can't achieve all of those goals. He has pressures on him internally, certainly political pressures as the midterms approach. He has economic pressures that the price of gas continues to rise. And Israel has a different set of priorities. And in a recent Truth Social post, President Trump said Iran must agree to never have a nuclear weapon and reopen the Strait of Hormuz with no tolls, but made no mention of Lebanon, Jericka, as the fighting there only intensifies.
