President Trump participated in a dignified transfer at Dover Air Force Base today, honoring two members of the Iowa National Guard and an interpreter who were killed in Syria last weekend. The Pentagon says an ISIS gunmen ambushed them during a mission by US and Syrian forces. CBS News correspondent Lana Zak live in Iowa City and was following this story. So Lana, what can you tell us about the Iowa National Guard members who were killed in this attack? Good evening, Juliette. As you can imagine, alongside the nation, Iowans in particular are grieving the loss of two young Iowa National Guard members who were killed there in Syria. We have received their names from the Army. They were Sergeant William-- better known as Nate Howard. He was just 29 years old and from Marshalltown, Iowa. He was killed alongside Sergeant Edgar Torres-Tovar, 25 years old, from the Des Moines area. There was also a civilian interpreter who has not been named, who was killed, as well as three additional Iowa guardsmen who were injured in that attack. We are hoping that they will recover. But the family right now, as they are limiting, really, how much they are saying, asking for privacy at this moment, did post remembrances alongside friends about just how dedicated both of these men were to their country, to their families, in the case of Sergeant Nate Howard, to his wife, Ariana. She talked about how they had recently just purchased a home together that they had planned to grow old in. And for everyone, the feeling that this challenging time needs to pause for a moment to make sure that we remember these people who gave their lives for the country. Juliette.
