How a total lunar eclipse works

Skywatchers are being treated to a celestial doubleheader across much of the world: the longest lunar eclipse of the century and Mars' closest approach to Earth in 15 years. Unfortunately, people in North America can't see either event because the sun is out, but people all over Africa and Asia are getting a spectacular show. Space journalist Elizabeth Howell joins CBSN from Ottawa, Canada, to discuss.
