Tonight, disturbing new video shows a severely malnourished Israeli hostage being held in what appears to be an underground tunnel. Now, this comes as witnesses and workers say Israeli troops opened fire on hungry civilians at two Gaza food distribution sites. CBS's Debora Patta reports from Tel Aviv.

Good evening. US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff met with the families of hostages in Tel Aviv today. He told them, we have a plan to end the war and bring everyone home. Witkoff's words did little to ease the desperation of families and friends who have been waiting 666 days for their loved ones.

PROTESTORS:

Bring them home now!

A new Hamas propaganda video showed hostage, Evyatar David, looking so skeletal. His family said, they fear he only has a few days left to live, speaking after the Witkoff meeting.

We spoke about the deal that is going to be all or nothing. We told him that nothing is not open for us.

In Gaza, Israel has been accused by Human Rights Watch of war crimes by weaponizing starvation, and it says the Israeli backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has turned aid distribution points into bloodbaths. [GUN SHOTS] Israel denies both charges.

I must face death just to get a bag of flour, but it is flour mixed with blood.

Hundreds of people have been killed near GHF sites by Israeli fire, trying to get aid, say witnesses, health officials, and the UN. [CRYING] But Israel and the GHF says, they have only fired warning shots, and the toll has been exaggerated. 12-year-old Yusuf Abdullah has failed countless times to get food for his family.

"Every week, I see death here. But today, I got flour," he said. "Finally, I can ask my mom to make my favorite pastry." And in what has become a grim daily occurrence, Jericka, according to local hospitals, at least 35 more people were killed today, trying to get something to eat.

Debora Patta in Tel Aviv, thank you.
