Hey, she's still alive in here.

You can hear signs of life after a plane crashed-- wires exposed, a crumbled mess in the water. We just saw a crushed ball of aluminum. It appeared to me that there would be no way that anybody could be alive inside of that wreckage.

Boat Captain Sky Decker and his 11-year-old son were among the first to arrive at the scene of a deadly medical plane accident Monday more than a mile off the coast of Galveston, Texas.
SKY DECKER:

Hey, somebody get in here and help me pull this stuff out of the way.

Decker dove in and pulled out one of two survivors, a nurse named Miriam Mancilla to safety. 50 years earlier, he survived a plane crash as a child himself. Reflecting on these parallels, the fate that put you there, how does that make you feel? It makes me feel like God is in control.

The plane was transporting a pediatric burn victim from Merida, Mexico to a Children's hospital in Galveston. Flight radar shows the plane crossing the gulf then approaching the Galveston airport before disappearing off radar over the bay. The two-year-old patient, his doctor, and four members of the Mexican Navy died. Decker's son says he's proud of his dad for risking his life to save others. I've always thought of my dad as my hero. And that just made me just really, truly show that he's my hero.
