Device developed by young entrepreneur collecting Pacific Ocean litter

A first-of-its-kind effort to clean up massive amounts of garbage floating in the Pacific Ocean is officially underway. A 2,000-foot long boom began its journey out to sea. It will work to clean up a huge area of trash floating between California and Hawaii known as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Carter Evans spoke to the young inventor behind the ambitious clean-up.
