Trump faces criticism over stranded Americans

The State Department says it has helped 6,500 US citizens leave. Another 10,000 got out on their own. And charter flights are being organized, but it's unclear if any have arrived, yet. The Netherlands, Spain, and Bulgaria have mustered repatriation flights. Among those stuck in Israel, Todd and Lisa [? Eggleston ?] from Las Vegas arriving two days before the war broke out. All of a sudden, this loud siren goes off on my phone. It just, scared us to death. And I look down on it, and it's like you need to seek shelter.

They've had little sleep, running in and out of bomb shelters every night. You've been actually sleeping in your clothes every night. Yeah. I mean, not our shoes, just our clothes. Yeah.

It goes to that automated message, and then disconnects. And while the [? Egglestons ?] are being patient, they just want to get home. We know that they've gotten some people out of some other countries, and we understand all that. I just don't want to be here for three weeks. And we will seek other means to get out if it gets to that point. So the Egglestons were able to rebook a flight on Delta, but for March 24. And now with the administration saying that this war could last eight weeks, Tony, you can be sure that those flights will also be canceled, meaning that tourists across the region will be forced to eat all these additional costs of these prolonged stays. Those bills get big very fast.
