Federal agents clashed with protesters in major cities, including Chicago. Trump is now federalizing 300 Illinois National Guard troops to protect federal assets in the state. The president has used the deployment of the National Guard in DC as a success story and falsely claimed there is now no crime. Washington, DC is now a safe place. And we're going to do that in Chicago.

Also this weekend, Trump's push to send National Guard troops to Portland, Oregon, blocked by a federal judge he appointed during his first term. In her order Saturday, Judge Karin Immergut called Trump's statements on the situation in Portland untethered to the facts. I appointed the judge, and he goes like that. Portland is burning to the ground. Today, Gavin Newsom said the White House is deploying 300 National Guard troops from California to Portland instead, a move he called a breathtaking abuse of power and one that he will fight in court. The White House says the president was exercising his authority. Jericka.
