MIKE MAX:

It's two hours before a Twins game-- Buxton!
MIKE MAX:
00:00:16
--and Elaine DeVries is at the ballpark. I'm here for the love and the cheeseburger.
MIKE MAX:
00:00:20
The host of the media lunchroom-- Oh, I'm doing just fantastic. How are you?
MIKE MAX:
00:00:25
--for 14 years, starting work here at age 60. Of course. How was your morning? Each one, I want to make sure that they feel welcome. It's all about you and me, Jerry. I call myself the ambassador.
MIKE MAX:
00:00:38
At age 50, she started running, and she has never stopped. How many marathons have you run? I'm heading toward-- I always say around 50. I've also done many halfs, but I don't really keep track of the halfs.
MIKE MAX:
00:00:52
She has run the Boston Marathon.
ELAINE DEVRIES:
00:00:54
So the crowd support is absolutely amazing. Now, it's a challenging race but is really the most prestigious race.
MIKE MAX:
00:01:02
She has run Grandma's and the Twin Cities, with success.
ELAINE DEVRIES:
00:01:06
And I've won my age group three times. I've done Twin Cities four and have won my age group two of those times.
MIKE MAX:
00:01:14
She's now training for her next quest, one that would check another box.
ELAINE DEVRIES:
00:01:19
The Abbott World Majors is you run six marathons, and they are New York, Chicago, Boston, London, Tokyo, and Berlin. And now they have just added a seventh one, which is Sydney, Australia, which I am currently training to do.
MIKE MAX:
00:01:37
Don't think she's obsessed with just running. She took time to climb 19,000 feet, as in Mount Kilimanjaro.
ELAINE DEVRIES:
00:01:45
Our motto was [NON-ENGLISH], which is slowly, slowly. So you could feel the effects of the lack of oxygen.
MIKE MAX:
00:01:56
That's not to be confused with her biking club.
ELAINE DEVRIES:
00:01:58
And we just got back from the Netherlands in April during the tulip season that we biked about 40 miles a day.
MIKE MAX:
00:02:06
She does leave Minnesota in the winter months to relax.
ELAINE DEVRIES:
00:02:11
So we now winter in Florida. And so every morning at 7:00 AM, our group meets, and we play pickleball.
MIKE MAX:
00:02:19
And so she keeps running, set to conquer Australia in August and maybe one more on the bucket list someday. This one is kind of out there, but I really would like to do the Antarctica marathon.
MIKE MAX:
00:02:32
Come on. [LAUGHTER] It's challenging. I mean, you're running on glaciers with the penguins.
MIKE MAX:
00:02:41
Watch out for the polar bears. Who wouldn't want to do that, right?
MIKE MAX:
00:02:44
I'm Mike Max, CBS News, Minnesota.
