UT Dorm Changes Name After KKK Controversy

Simkins Hall and park on the University of Texas at Austin campus now has a new name. William Stewart Simkins was a law professor at UT Austin for many years but was also a founder of the KKK in Florida.  Because of that the residents' hall and park that bared his name will now be called Creekside Dorm and Park.  "In my opinion the history behind the name is not in line with today's University of Texas and its core values."  UT Regent Prentice Gary says one good thing out of this is it has given the University a chance to restate and reinforce its position on diversity.
