Small Rain Chances, Heat is Back

Nice little respite from the heat over this weekend be it every so slight. Lows 90's were the highs both Saturday and today but low dewpoints (in the upper 50's this afternoon!)meant less humidity and greater comfort. Starting tomorrow those dewpoints will return to the more typical late-June positions (upper 60's, low 70's), so will the daytime highs:

It is summer and this is what you get. No 100° days so far this year, last time that happened was the in the fifth wettest year on record at DFW, 2007. We are not halfway thru THIS year and we already have more rain in the bucket than any of the last five:

Look at the wettest years on record and then look at where we are in comparison by this time of year. Only 1957 has a wetter start.

We have meager rain chances ahead as we close June and count down to the Fourth of July weekend. Tomorrow night the storm chances are better along the Red River than around the Metroplex:

Tuesday the rain chances are better to the southeast of the Metro:

It is very rare to have a cold front get south of us during the summer months. It happened this weekend but next weekend it is looking like one stalls to our north. It still might be close enough to bring some rain chances late Friday and Saturday morning as well as the afternoon on both Saturday and Sunday:

Here is the complete 7-day outlook:
