New Violent Crime Task Force Already Making Arrests

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The new Violent Crime Task Force in Dallas has hit the ground running, according to its Twitter page.

It tweeted this evening about seizing an assault rifle and arresting three men on gun and drug charges.

To combat the crime in key areas, the department has put together a task force comprised of 170 officers from the K9, gang, narcotics and tactical units combined.

Police said neighbors in those areas will notice more officers on the streets.  A retweet from the task force's Twitter page was evidence of that.
