Hottest Work Week Yet Ahead

It's that time of year when we suffer the heat here in north Texas. We hit 99° today (and yesterday) making for the hottest weekend yet. Tomorrow? Likely the first 100° day of the year:

The heat index will likely stay under 105°F tomorrow afternoon, staying just under the HEAT ADVISORY level. Still, be careful out there. Don't wait until your thirsty to drink, take breaks in the shade, where only light-colored clothing in the week ahead. We'll be in the mid-90's by noon tomorrow:

On Tuesday a stationary front will languish over the Panhandle and Oklahoma- this could create flooding problems even. But the front most likely won't make it here with such a powerful high pressure ridge in place overhead. It's late July- fronts from the Central Plains hardly ever get this far south:

We've had one day of rain this July (on the 8th) and we don't see another one in the extended forecast. We could easily end the month with nothing but dry days:

Join Scott Padgett tomorrow morning starting at 4:30am for the latest in this march toward three-digit highs.
