Hot and Getting Hotter
The July heat has set in. This looks to the be the hottest weekend of the year so far:
Sunday could be our first 100° of the year, its been eight years since we've gone this deep into summer without one (2007). The heat index will hover around the 104°-106° range by afternoon. Tomorrow afternoon the dewpoint will be just a little lower. While this makes it SLIGHTLY more comfortable in the shade it also allows the afternoon high to climb SLIGHTLY higher.
The ridge of high pressure overhead will continue to dominate our weather pattern through the rest of the month. July started reasonable but has quickly morphed into "Texas Hot":
We've only had one day of rain (.92" back on the 8th) this month. It is looking like that'll be it for the month. With the high pressure ridge sitting right overhead we will be hot and dry to close the month:
Here is the extended.
