Denton ISD Selects New Superintendent
DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) - The Denton Independent School District has selected its new superintendent.
Deputy superintendent Dr. Jamie Wilson was named as the lone finalist for the position back in May. On Tuesday, the board voted unanimously for Wilson to take on the job. He has been with the district for seven years, starting as assistant superintendent for academic programs. Wilson has also served in the Keller Independent School District and the Aubrey Independent School District.
Wilson replaces Dr. Ray Braswell, who plans to retire at the end of the month. Braswell spent 34 years in the Denton ISD.
According to a written release, since 2000, the Denton ISD has seen its student population nearly double.
