Coldest Night Yet For the Weekend
We had some drizzle/mix fall across north Texas this morning. The system that was causing that quickly pulled away to the north just leaving clouds and a cold wind in the wake:
Cold winds will make for a cold day. This light precipitation will be gone by later in the morning as clouds break apart. Highs for the day have already been reached, it was in the upper 40's at midnight at DFW. Temperatures will either hold around 40° all day or even drop a degree or two with these strong northwest winds.
As skies clear tonight and those cold winds continue to blow make sure to bundle up if heading out tonight. Wind chills will be in the teens close to midnight:
We'll have the coldest night of the season tonight. By tomorrow morning I expect lows in the metro area to be in the 20's. It'll be the first time in the 20's this El Nino winter. A cold morning and a cold day tomorrow on tap. The winds diminish a little but it'll only be in the low 40's even with the sunshine. Monday morning it'll be in the 20's again to start the day. A little rain back in the forecast on Thursday but staying chilly all week:
Tomorrow Seattle is playing the Vikings OUTDOORS. Kickoff temperature is forecast to be 1° with a wind chill around -15. It could end up to be one of the colder NFL games played in the last decade.
