Cold Winds Turn South

We had a front and surface low move right over the Metroplex this morning. A band of showers formed in front of it and swept quickly across north Texas. Rainfall amounts were not very generous:

The morning was full of clouds and cold winds. It'll be a little raw across the late morning but we'll have some sunshine and less wind by later in the day:

Superbowl 50 right here on CBS11 tomorrow. It'll be another cool start because of brisk winds in the morning tomorrow. But unlike today, temperatures will climb quickly thanks to a strong southwest wind. That'll push the temperatures up into the 60's before a cold front comes in during the afternoon hours. Temperatures will quickly drop so when you leave that Superbowl party make sure to wear those coats. This cold front won't have any moisture to work with so very little in clouds and no talk of rain:

Next three days are up and down:

We had a front come through this morning leaving in its' wake a day in the 50's.

But for Superbowl 50 it won't be in the 50's, a south wind gets us in the 60's:

Behind the other cold front will be dry air and very windy conditions. We'll have to watch for the risk of grass fires, especially in our western counties:

The warm and dry weather continues next week. It looks like we'll even get a day in the 70's!

Join Jeff Jamison tonight for an update on the forecast. See you tomorrow morning!
