Chilly Start to A Nice Day
Paybacks aren't always bad. After a cold, cold start to January (from the 1st thru the 15th the average high at DFW Airport was a meager 43°) we have finally run into some great winter weather. The 68° at DFW was the warmest day in over a month:
A weak cold front swept through north Texas this afternoon; wind gust went over 30mph in some places as they turn north. This north wind will drop the temperatures quickly; all the way down into the upper 30's by tomorrow morning. By daybreak the winds should have backed to the southwest and will pick up later in the morning. Teamed with sunshine the dry air will warm quickly into the mid-60's. Another nice day:
The Fort Worth Stock Show opened this weekend. A great run of weather to start the three-week event:
A cold front arrives on Tuesday. We'll likely still get into the low 60's despite the north wind. Clouds settle in on Wednesday and highs stay in the 50's:
An upper-air disturbance comes out of the southwest and brings in some rain chances; it'll be light rain and most of it south of the I-20 corridor. It'll be a cold rain but no worry about winter weather:
The colder-than-average weather will be with us next weekend.
