Award-winning producer Rome Hartman graduated from Duke University in 1977 with a degree in political science. He began his career at CBS News in 1983 as a field producer in the Atlanta bureau. He served as CBS News' White House producer from 1986 to 1990. Hartman was executive producer of three different programs at three networks: The CBS Evening News, BBC World News America, and Rock Center with Brian Williams at NBC.
He spent more than half of his career producing stories for 60 Minutes from 1991 to 2005 and again from 2014 until his retirement in 2025.
