DeSantis noted in an interview that his own administration in Florida lacks "daily drama" and laughed off Trump's nickname for him, "Ron DeSanctimonious."
Trump and his campaign have begun fundraising on the possibility of his indictment and have highlighted the delayed reaction from the 2024 field.
DeSantis has not yet declared a 2024 run, though Trump acknowledged he is "probably" his biggest challenger.
The Florida governor visited Iowa and Nevada recently, both states that hold early GOP presidential nominating contests.
DeSantis expanded on his stance on Ukraine in response to a questionnaire from Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
This is DeSantis' first visit this year to the first primary state.
The former president will be making his first 2024 campaign visit to the state Monday.
