The SpaceX launch is the first of two rapid-fire cargo delivery missions to the International Space Station.
The launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying a Dragon cargo ship loaded with crew supplies and science gear bound for the International Space Station — along with Christmas presents for the lab's crew — was called off Wednesday due to dangerously high upper-level winds. CBSN Los Angeles reports.
SpaceX's 19th cargo flight to the space station will deliver more than 5,500 pounds of supplies and equipment.
"All this material was in a huge ball in the stomach and some of it it looked like it had been there for some time," researchers said.
This year will likely be the second or third warmest year ever recorded, according to a UN agency.
