With the first day of school approaching, the district announced it would implement a full phone ban to curb the negative impacts of cell phones in its schools.
Flooding at an AT&T communications hub in San Rafael on Sunday temporarily knocked out cellphone, landline and 911 service in multiple cities and communities in Marin County, authorities said.
At least 2.5 million students across the country are using Yondr pouches, as 35 states have laws or rules limiting cellphones in schools.
AT&T is pushing to get rid of its legacy copper landline services and instead replace them with advanced fiber optic networks. But not everyone is on board with getting rid of their landline.
