Facebook CEO Zuckerberg Ramps Up Meat-Eating Routine With Bison Kill

PALO ALTO (CBS) - Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who last year revealed that he will not eat meat unless he actually kills the animal, has apparently taken a liking to hunting and eating bison, according to various sources and his recent status post.

Speculation first started at the f8 keynote last week when Zuckerberg announced Facebook's redesigned profile. When he displayed his personal profile there was a box that showed that he "was cooking delicious bison burgers."

Tongues started to wag and Mashable confirmed Tuesday that Zuckerberg has a hunting license and that he, in fact, killed a bison.

The bison was an unfortunate victim of Zuckerberg's personal challenge. In an email interview with Patricia Sellers for Fortune in May, Zuckerberg said his yearly personal challenge is based "around being thankful for the food I have to eat. I think many people forget that a living being has to die for you to eat meat … I've basically become a vegetarian since the only meat I'm eating is from animals I've killed myself."

Zuckerberg started his gastro-adventure with boiling a lobster. He then later slaughtered a chicken, and reported that he "just killed a pig and a goat" on his personal Facebook page.

When asked for a comment, a spokesperson from Facebook said that "this is a personal matter, so we don't have anything to share."
