Firefighters Contain 10-Acre Wildfire Near Gilroy
GILROY (CBS SF) - Firefighters have contained a 10-acre wind-driven fire in the San Martin area of southern Santa Clara County Monday afternoon.
Fire crews responded to a report of a grass fire in the area of Santa Teresa Boulevard and Sunshine Street around 2:20 p.m., a Cal Fire dispatcher said.
The blaze threatened structures and prompted a brief evacuation, the dispatcher said.
Firefighters contained the blaze about an hour later.
According to Bay City News Service, a firefighter suffered a sprained ankle while battling the blaze. No other injuries had been reported.
It is unclear what caused Monday's fire.
