Two Former Giants Inducted to Wall of Fame

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)_ A pair of former San Francisco Giants All-Stars was honored before Saturday's Giants-Dodgers game at AT&T Park.  A crowd gathered at the "Giants Wall of Fame" on King Street.

Giants broadcaster Mike Krukow introduced infielder Richard Santo Aurilia and "Lefty" Shawn Estes as the 45th and 46th inductees into the wall of fame.

"I root for these guys everyday, even when I'm covering them on TV.  I want them to get back to the post-season too.  Let's hope they do that," said Krukow.

Estes told the crowd that the city of San Francisco has been a key part of his life.

"I've made some lifelong friends.  This is where I met my wife, where I was married, and where I was able to play for an organization that made me feel like a family member, not just a number on the back of my jersey," said Estes.

Aurilia spent 12 seasons with the Giants, while Estes played seven.  Their bronze plaques are up on the brick ball park wall near the ticket booth.
