Triple-Digit Highs On Tap For Bay Area Through The Weekend

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) - A ridge of high pressure brings even hotter temperatures to the Bay Area Friday, with widespread 90's and even 100's across much of the Bay Area.

A hint of fog along the coastline in the early morning is expected to burn off, leading to higher than normal temperatures in many places. San Francisco is expected to reach 81. A high of 88 is projected for Oakland.

The South Bay should see widespread 90's. The far East Bay is expected to see triple-digit heat. The warm weather has led to a deterioration of air quality, especially in the South Bay. As a result, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District has issued a Spare the Air Alert for Friday.

The heat is expected to last through the weekend, with some clouds beginning to develop Sunday that could begin to cool things down a bit into next week.
