Tom From MySpace Really Wants The Giants To Keep Tim Lincecum
If you think back to the earliest days of social media, it was MySpace that sat atop of the social tech startup world. And if you remember correctly from your MySpace account, it was Tom Anderson, or just Tom as you might have known him back then, who welcomed you to MySpace and offered to be your 'friend.'
Now that most of Tom's 'friends' have left him behind, the man behind MySpace has moved on to bigger things, such as making sure that the San Francisco Giants resign starting pitcher Tim Lincecum this offseason.
Lincecum, a two-time Cy Young award winner and three-time World Series champion with the Giants, remains a free agent even though pitchers and catchers set to report to their respective camps in a matter of weeks.
The lefty's role has reduced drastically in recent years as injuries and poor performances have kept him out of the Giants' rotation and limited him to just 76 innings pitched in 2015.
According to celebritynetworth.com, Anderson's net worth is around $60 million, which should be more than enough to pay Lincecum's contract with the Giants should the team take him up on the offer.
The whole concept probably goes against baseball's contract rules and regulations, but you've got to respect Tom's effort when it comes to keeping Lincecum in San Francisco.
Imagine if he tried this hard to keep MySpace users away Facebook.
