SF Supes To Vote On Ban Of Performances Using Wild Animals
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- San Francisco is poised to ban performances using bears, lions, elephants and other wild animals.
The ordinance is expected to get final approval Tuesday at the Board of Supervisors.
It would apply to circuses, backyard birthday parties and the filming of movies and TV shows.
Wild or exotic animals also include seals, dolphins, zebras and raccoons.
Cats, dogs and other domesticated pets are exempt, as are animals used in educational programs.
The city would be joining dozens of other places with similar prohibitions.
