SF Police Arrest 2 Suspects For Fatal Friday Night Shooting

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- San Francisco police today announced that two men have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 25-year-old man in the city's South of Market neighborhood late Friday night.

Anthony Pratt, 27, of Union City and Trumillion Ballard, 24, of San Francisco were detained by police in Union City on Saturday afternoon, according to police.

San Francisco homicide detectives questioned both men regarding the fatal shooting of Gary Smith, which took place on the first block of Sixth Street at 11:10 p.m. on Friday.

Officers found Smith on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Both Pratt and Ballard were arrested for murder and booked at San Francisco County Jail.

The homicide remains under investigation.
