SALINAS (BCN) -- Two masked gunmen robbed an Ace Hardware store in Salinas on Wednesday evening and the suspects remain outstanding Friday, police said.

The robbery was reported shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the store located at 1215 S. Main St., according to police.

A clerk at the store was helping a customer when the two suspects came in. One suspect demanded money from the clerk while the second held two customers at gunpoint, police said.

The clerk gave an undisclosed amount of money to the suspects, who then fled in a waiting car parked on Plaza Circle. The car, described as a late 90s, dark-colored four-door Honda Accord, was last seen fleeing north on South Main Street, according to police.
