Saint Mary's Defeats New Mexico State

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) -- Mitchell Young scored 20 points to lead St. Mary's to a 73-53 victory over New Mexico State on Thursday night.

Matthew Dellavedova had 12 points and six assists and Stephen Holt scored 10 points for the Gaels (10-2).

Christian Kabongo scored 16 points and Hernst Laroche added 12 for the Aggies (6-8).

St. Mary's led 48-41 with 13:07 remaining and took control with a 13-4 run highlighted by consecutive 3-pointers by Mickey McConnell, Dellavedova and Holt.

The Gaels converted 15 turnovers into 22 points and outscored New Mexico State 34-8 in the paint.
