Richmond Teens Hurt In Drive-By Shooting
RICHMOND (BCN) - Two teenagers were injured in a drive-by shooting on the streets of North Richmond Sunday, the Richmond Police Department reported.
Just before 12:30 p.m., a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old were walking near South Eighth Street and Florida Avenue when assailants in a vehicle opened fire on the teens, Sgt. Jesse Ney said.
The 13-year-old was shot the lower leg and the 14-year-old was shot in the hand, Ney said.
The victims were taken to local hospitals and were expected to survive, Ney said.
Police have yet to identify a motive for the shooting.
Ney said police are trying to gather vehicle and suspect descriptions from witnesses.
