Richmond Police Arrest Teen Suspects In Armed Robbery
RICHMOND (CBS/BCN) -- Two teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery in Richmond Saturday morning, a police lieutenant said.
The robbery was reported shortly before 9:50 a.m. near the intersection of South 30th Street and Cutting Boulevard, Richmond police Lt. George Garcia said.
Two suspects armed with a handgun confronted the victim and demanded property. They then fled on foot from the area but were found nearby shortly afterward in the 2800 block of Foothill Avenue, Garcia said.
The officers detained the teens, ages 16 and 14, who the victim identified as the robbery suspects, according to Garcia. Officers did not find the firearm allegedly used by the suspects, he said.
The victim was not injured in the robbery.
The teens were booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of robbery, Garcia said.
