Pittsburg Man Shot

PITTSBURG, Calif. -- A 25-year-old Pittsburg man was fatally shot inside his home early Sunday morning.

Police were called to a residence in the 2200 block of San Remo Way at about 1 a.m. When they arrived, officers found the victim inside suffering from a gunshot wound.

The officers performed CPR on the victim but were unable to save him and he died at the scene.

Several of the victim's roommates were home when the shooting happened and police are continuing to interview them.

Investigators are following promising leads in the case, but as of this morning had not made any arrests.

The victim's name was not being released this morning because his family hadn't yet been notified of his death, according to the Contra Costa County coroner's office.

This is the city's fourth homicide this year. At this time last year, there had been five homicides in Pittsburg.
